greens pool discovery hiking tour

Experience the emerald green waters of Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks after a stunning coastal hike through William Bay National Park on the Bibbulmun Track.

From the instant we step out of the vehicle at glorious locals’ hangout Lights Beach, our senses are filled with the salt tang of the Southern Ocean, and maybe even a glimpse of a whale’s tail in the winter months.

Upon setting off, we immediately enter William Bay National Park and hike through fragrant coastal vegetation, traversing granite boulder scapes, remnant karri forest and abundant seasonal wildflowers. As we wind through the landscape and ascend steadily the views become ever more spectacular, and we’ll take a breather at one of the Bibbulmun Track’s famous hiker’s huts where there is shelter and a toilet.

Fancy a delicious locally packed morning tea overlooking the coastline from West Cape Howe right around to Walpole? Check. Once rested and refuelled, we descend steadily towards that enticing coastline, taking in the raw power of the ocean before arriving at iconic Greens Pool, a safe swimming and snorkelling spot beloved by locals and visitors alike.

If time permits, we can adventure on across the granite to check out secluded Elephant Rocks, another photogenic must-do on your South coast bucket list. Don’t forget your bathers! If you want to extend the magic, this experience is available as a full day hiking option which also includes a stunning hike through some of Denmark’s remaining old growth karri forest.
